Wellness

How can we help? We are here for you and your wellbeing!

Physical Wellbeing

Physical wellness helps us maintain quality of life, particularly in carrying out the acts of daily living. Parkinson’s can present challenges in getting dressed, food prep, house cleaning and yard work. We want to help you focus on positive fitness habits. PROPEL is an individualized program that emphasizes strength, balance, and cardio.

Social Wellbeing

Maintaining healthy personal relationships is important to all aspects of wellness. Connect with others living with Parkinson’s in the support group, at a special event, or
during PROPEL exercise sessions. Let the local Parkinson’s community support you.

Mental Wellbeing

Parkinson’s can steal your confidence and degrade your mental health during difficult times. Connecting with others, active living, learning, and sharing help you maintain
mental wellbeing.

Emotional Health

Persons with positive emotional health are better able to cope and bounce back from difficulties. We all know that Parkinson’s can challenge one’s grit and resilience. We
look for speakers who can help us draw from resources in Abilene to avoid stress or deal with it.

Spiritual Wellbeing

We humans have a need for meaning with one another and something greater than ourselves. This includes connecting with a faith community of your choosing, practicing mindfulness, spending time in nature and even spending time working on hobbies. Some of our support group sessions are round table discussions or creative activities, both of which are intended to help us take care of ourselves.

Creative Outlets

Advances in the field of neuroarts tell us more than ever that the arts are essential and enhance our lives. Creative endeavors help reduce stress, increase joy, improve sleep,
and boost your energy. We are very fortunate to collaborate with the Grace Museum for viewing art and making art. Watch for the next opportunity at the Grace – and it’s free!
