PROPEL: Parkinson's Resource and Outreach Program for Exercise for Life

 

PROPEL is dedicated to helping individuals with Parkinson’s disease live stronger, healthier, and safer lives through scientifically designed exercise programs. Based at Hardin-Simmons University, our program focuses on improving strength, balance, stability, gait, motor function, and endurance to enhance overall well-being and independence.

How PROPEL Works

1. Orientation at Hardin-Simmons University

Learn about the program and take a tour of the state-of-the-art Fletcher Fitness Facility.

 

2. Complete Required Paperwork

Complete paperwork from us and HSU and obtain a medical clearance from your doctor to participate in the exercise program.

3. Comprehensive Evaluation

Undergo an assessment by one of our skilled Physical Therapists to determine your individual needs and goals.

4. Set a Schedule & Meet Your Student Volunteer

We will work with your schedule to set up exercise session(s), Monday-Friday between 8am-1pm, at HSU. Get paired with a dedicated volunteer who will guide and support you through your workouts.

5. Start Training for a Better Life

Engage in personalized exercise sessions designed to improve mobility, strength, and confidence in movement.
